What is Punch & Judy Puppets Theater? Punch and Judy is a traditional puppet show from England that features Mr. Punch and his wife Judy. The show is made up of a series of short scenes, each telling an interaction between two characters, most commonly Mr. Punch and one other character who usually falls victim to Punch’s “slap stick”. Stick or lath is often used by clowns for striking other performers to make a loud, clapping noise without hurting the person struck. The show often reflects tradition British culture. Punch and Judy is also a comedy that is often dominated by the clown figure of Mr. Punch. 500 Reflection For Performance (actually 790)

Linda Li Ms. Guarino  IB HL Theater 1 November 2019 Solo Project 500 Reflection This reflection is the reflection for the end of my solo project. By this time, I have finished all the rehearsals and performing and also the talk back with my audience. I am going to talk about my actual performance, my talk-back with the audience, and also my own thoughts. In the morning of the day of my final performance, when I was running lines, line cues, light cues, and sound cues with my teacher, I was not able to tell whether I was ready or not for my performance. I realized that this is a very common feeling for all the actors before they go on the stage. And, this feeling became more and more intense as I got nearer and nearer to the show time. My audience population is composed of teachers and students of my current high school. ISTA 500words reflection

These are my most valuable three days staying in New York and working with ISTA. While we were having 4 sessions everyday, we have watched two broadway shows: Betelgeuse and To Kill a Mockingbird. As we do theater activities with people from all over the world, I realized how talented the people around me are. I was amazed by their wisdom and also got a lot of inspiration for my solo project too.  On the first day, I got to experience and feel deeply: Seven stages of tension Labon (heavy and light) The exercises we did are: walking across the room direct, indirect, with target, imitation, commitment, breathing, and seven stages of tension.
