Linda Li Love is Complicated Blog Progress Reflection

Linda Li Ms. Guarino IB HL Theater 19 December 2018 Love Is Complicated Write Up Love is Complicated is actually the first play that I created with my partners. Started from bring an object, a picture, or an letter as a stimulus from one scene, we got to the point where the whole play was plotted out in front of us. The process was long, confused, difficult, and has many challenges and errors in it, however, all of us were so happy and creative when we were plotting each scene and acting them out to put ourselves in to the characters’ shoes. Let me walk you through our whole process of plotting and finally acting of the whole play, Love Is Complicated. Let’s talk about out stimulus first. Our stimulus is a painting named The Hole on The Wall , which has a person who has a whole that is covered by a piece of wood on him or her reaching out his or her arm and hand to catch a heart-shaped balloon that is flying away from him or her. For us, the stimulus definitely has a sen...

Linda Li Script analysis write-up

Script analysis write-up: What strategies did you use to analyze your script last week and what did you find from that technique? Also, how did you revise your piece based on the findings. 300 words. Post on blog. The first strategy I have used to analyze our script is called "Beginning, Middle, End" (chunk/draw). This helps identify traits of character, plot, theme, turning points, points of conflict, change, and resolution. This also helps the audience to understand and visualize the plots. In our play  Love Is Complicated, the characters we have are Steve, Sara, Marcus, and Natalie,   Steve and Sara are married, Marcus and Natalie are married, Steve is a husband who stresses loyalty, unity of family, and he is very irrational and sensitive and protective about his wife Sara. Sara is a psychiatrist and also a wife. She was messing around with Marcus, who is Natalie's husband. The themes of this play are the longing for love, heartbreak, unfaithfulness, betrayal, co...

Collaboration project peer comments and self assessments

Peer editing: 1. Sometimes the characters are partially under the light. Maybe work on the lighting more. The lighting could be used to highlight what important things are going to happen. But the light they alredubahev is nice too because it outlines and highlights the whole stage. 2. Characters could maybe focus on more what is in their head and what they really want to say. 3. The plots are very interesting. Maybe a little bit more connection between the scenes to make the whole show flow better? 4. Sometimes characters turn their back on the audience. Maybe find out where the audience should be to get the best look of the scenes. 5. Really lovely physical and facial expressions. Good job. And Nice story line! It is interesting and the audience would want to know what has actually happened and what is going to happen next. 6. Maybe incorporate some props to make the scenes’ content look richer and help the audience to understand the scenes better. Self-assessment: 1. We ...
