Collaborative project 500 reflection

First thing I want to talk about, which was a big issue in our collaborative project performance, is following the script we have actually written out before plotting the whole project. I think we did not do a good job at memorizing the script, therefore, it interference our performance on the filming day. The way four of us try to get the whole project run through was piecing our pieces of memory of script together and making up phrases during the performance. I think it should never happen in a real life theater show that the actors came in unprepared for their lines. And not memorizing the lines really well negatively affected my physical, facial, and mental performance. However, I still think that we did a great job at finishing the whole show fluently and naturally under the case that we did not memorize and say the script.
Secondly, I want to talk bout the costume we wore for the performance and filming. Steve and Marcus did a great job at their costumes. Steve was wearing a oversized white T-shirt and a green jacket and a pair of blue jeans and sneakers, which was fittest to his character setting because Steve was supposed to be a alcoholic and crappie husband. Marcus's costume was composed of a white suit under a light blue blazer and wearing a pair of formal pants and a pair of leather shoes. It did a great job at setting up his page as a hard working employee and shows his seriousness. It forms a obvious contrast with Steve's costume and image to highlight their personality and difference. Sara's and Natalie's were okay but did not highlight their personalities like Steve's and Marcus's did.
Third thing I want to talk about is the lighting during the filming process. We have decided to put all the characters on the different sides of the Black Box Theater stage, and the ways to express their presence in the scene is by turning lights on the characters in the scene on one end of the stage and rest of the characters would remain in dark on the other side of the stage. During the scene change, like most theater do during their scene transition, we turned off the bright lights and turn on the blue lights to cover the whole stage. The transition between the first scene and the second scene was different and awesome because we did not turn on the blue lights, instead, we pre set up all the actors and actress on the stage and immediately after scene one is over, the light on Sara was turned off and the light in the other side of Marcus and Natalie's house was turned on at the right moment when they enter the scene. For this, I am proud of our filming person Jenna and lighting control group Ms Guarino and Helen. In Sara's and Marcus's houses, the light was bright and in warm tone to represent the sense of home; in the bar when Steve and Natalie were talking, the lights are blue and purple, which are cool tone and darker color to show the sense of leisure and the flirty taste between Steve and Natalie.
Fourthly, I want to reflect on people's performance. Obviously, all of us did a great job at expressing the image and inner thoughts of our characters on stage. The way we walk, our one when we were talking to each other on stage, and our physical movements, such as Sara covering up her face to show she her anxiety and sadness, all have a purpose which is to express our character's personality and emotion stage and inner thoughts. Different with other theater production where all the actors and actresses on the stage, some have a stronger feeling of participation and some seems less in participation to highlight the importance and position of the main character, in our collaborative project, four of us sort of share the equal degree of participation and even position. However, when we initially planned the project we have settled up Sara and Steve to be the man Characters. I would still say that Sara is the "point" of this project since it was her who has started the whole affair. If Sara did not attempt Marcus and led Steve to his suspicion of cheating on his wife, maybe the end would not be Steve being punched by Marcus on the ground and everyone got into trouble because of Sara's temptation.
For summary of this whole reflection, I want to express that all of us have worker hard and did an amazing job on this performance. There are a lot for us to improve on the future production. Communication and actually application and evaluation are really important elements during our working progress.

Collaborative project 500 reflection
“Love is complicated: A peculiar state of love” is the title of our collaborative project, and its theme includes heartbreak, betrayal, denial, sadness, misunderstanding, fighting, desperation, temptation, and regret; and it is a little love triangle drama design by four of us, Ray, Olivia, Willgim, and Linda. The whole drama has only four characters: Sara, Steve, Natalie, and Marcus. Sara is Steve’s wife, but she is in love with Marcus, who is her high school crush; and Steve met Marcus’s wife Natalie at a bar. By the time Steve found out his wife was "cheating" on him with Marcus, which was actually just Sara herself mentally cheating with Marcus. When I am writing this report, we have already finished filming the final version of our collaborative project, this is just a short overview of the general information and plot of our project and how we film the whole project.
